IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR COP19/CMP9 DELEGATES IN WARSAW

 

November 20th

From 11AM – 3PM – ‘a happening on the green coal’ organized by the Secretariat of Mining and Energy of ‘Solidarity’ Trade Union.

Area: in front of the National Stadium, on the side of Zieleniecka street. Around 100 participants are expected.

 

November 21st:

From 1.30PM – 5PM – public gathering regarding climate change & impacts of CO2 and industry on the environment organized by Federation of Young European Greens.

 Area: The gathering starts in front of the Palace of Culture and Science. Then the route goes via Marszałkowska – Chmielna - Nowy Świat - Krakowskie Przedmieście in front of the main gate of the University of Warsaw. Around 50 participants are expected.

 

From 1PM - 3PM - public gathering to express protest against the organization of COP19 Climate Summit in Warsaw organized by the New Right-wing Congress.

Area: in front of the National Stadium on the side of Zieleniecka street. Around 30 participants are expected.

 

 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 11th OF NOVEMBER FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS TO THE COP19/CMP9

AVOID all areas where demonstrations/marches are planned and do not involve yourself in any discussions with participants at the public gatherings.

AVOID places where crowds are gathering and move away from any area where people are behaving in a confrontational manner.

DO NOT hang around in public areas.

DO NOT take photos/videos of any public gathering or activity.

AVOID public transport in Warsaw City Centre (bus and trams) on this day. Use transport provided by your delegation or COP19/CMP9 organizers (in particular designated buses to be made available for the Host Country reception) or taxis or Fast City Trains.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS of law enforcement services such as police, municipal police or person in charge of command of assembly/gathering/demonstration/march.

NOTIFY relevant law enforcement services (police, municipal police) if there is a need. Call local numbers 112 or 997 or 986.
