Statement of President of COP19
I would like to reassure you - Polish Presidency of the COP19 Climate Summit remains unchanged.
By taking a decision on change on the post of minister of environment of Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the same time reassured my position as the President of COP19/CMP9. The decision on the change of my position will be formally enacted only on Wednesday, next week, the 27 of November. After, I will continue my work as a Polish Government Plenipotentiary for Climate Policy and Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment of Poland responsible for climate policy.
I realize that the consistency of the work of the COP Presidency troika can only be achieved through a continuous process - also personal.
Now I'll be able to fully concentrate on the process of climate negotiations, without other responsibilities related to daily responsibilities of running the Ministry of Environment. This will allow me to fully focus on this demanding process of climate talks.
I would like to reassure you that Polish Presidency of the COP19 Climate Summit remains unchanged. We look forward to the success of the Summit in Warsaw and the entire Polish Presidency, which will last until December 2014.
